Forums closed and new comment system

January 8th, 2011 by

Hello everyone,
I regret to inform you that the ECC forums have been closed to the general public until further notice. Do not worry though. There is a new comment system installed that lets you comment with through a variety of services or as a guest.

The reason the forums have been closed is because there wasn’t much activity in them. We want to encourage community activity on ECC. So for now that will all be done through the new comment system.

So ya know.. if you got an opinion about any comic. just leave a comment on the appropriate article!

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sonic Pulse 2 Is Up!

December 27th, 2010 by

So far, every issue of Sonic Pulse has been an absolute slog to get done. Most of this issue was finished over the summer, but constant little things, like uncolored or missing pages kept slowing it down. The first two pages had to be completely redone, various pages where recolored and relettered, and as the script became older and it’s flaws more apparent, I had to constantly try to rewrite words and change or add plot points with the panels already done.

For the most part, I don’t think it’s turned out too bad. Certainly better then the first issue in every way imaginable.

Sonic Pulse also marks the third series to join ECC’s weekly line up, this time as a twice – a week comic. The next page will be on Wednesday, and from there on you can expect a Pulse page every Monday and Wednesday for the foreseeable future. I do hope you like what we have in store!

Sonic Pulse is a comic meant to be set in the game continuity. It adapts elements from the Archie verse into the game canon, and fills in time and plotholes between the various games. The current storyline takes place between Sonic CD and Sonic 3. This means we’ll be seeing some classic badniks, some classic character designs, as well as various other things from the old games! Of course, it also has aspects from the new games, such as the city of Spagonia, and also brings in things from the Archie canon, such as using Swatbots as a precursor to Robotnik’s Egg Pawn ground troops.

Enough of my prattling though! Check out the comic and tell us what you think. If you wish to start from the beginning you can click the Pulse button to your left. If you want to start with issue 2, please click here!

ECC wishes you happy holidays!

December 24th, 2010 by

Wow, been awhile since I’ve actually posted, hasn’t it?

While the front page hasn’t made it obvious, we’ve actually had ECC’s first ever “holiday special” running this week: a five page Sonic Eggs Holiday Special from Tracy Yardley. Or Christmas special. I don’t really know. I’m Jewish and even I don’t really give a fig. Regardless, that’s been running this week, and we’ve got one more page lined up for Christmas Eve.

But that’s not all we got in store. I do believe I’ve said this before, but now I speak with said work actually done. Next week will see the launch of not one, not two, but THREE comics, which will each be released bi weekly for the forseable future. The new Redux, a new MEC which has been heavily edited to ensure it’s writing is a step up from past issues, and finally the second issue of ECC’s supposed flagship comic, Sonic Pulse. Hopefully you all will like this one. Lord knows even I don’t particularly care for my writing in the original.

With that said, some updates on a few other series. Staffers, despite having numerous scripts in the pipe, some of which where honestly genuinely making me laugh, has all but died. If any cartoonist out there cares to join us and revive it, we will welcome you. The Tales from the Emerald Coast story Tales of the Great War will continue it’s hiatus until the new year, where it will return to a twice weekly schedule until the issue has run it’s course. We are doing everything we can to make sure the lag time between issues isn’t too long, so sit tight! We may actually have another one off Tales series in the vein of the first issue in the pipe, but we’ll have to see where that goes. Until then, I leave you with a rather obvious teaser image about it’s subject matter.

Till next time, rubes!

Tales of the Emerald Coast: Tales of the Great War

December 16th, 2010 by

It’s update time again!

And I have an announcement.  All ECC publications are taking a break next week with the exception of Sonic Eggs, for reasons of Yardley Christmas goodness, for the Christmas Holiday.  However this is only a one week break, and Tales of the Great War shall be back to publishing the very next week, on a two page a week schedule.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Tales of the Emerald Coast: Tales of the Great War

It is now, as of 15 minutes ago by my clock, Thursday.  What does this mean?  Well, it’s the last of the twice a week updates for the Great War.  And I can’t think of any other person to usher in this new age than… you’ll have to check out the page to see.

Enjoy, see you in a week.

t’s that time again. Is there a chance that the Mobian spy from last issue is going to escape from Overlander clutches? You’ll have to read to find out.

Also, I’m going to announce this now rather than next week, Tales of the Great War is going to be swapping over to a single page weekly release schedule, like Sonic Eggs, with releases every Thursday. There are some new releases coming up for the ECC and we need to make room in the schedule. XD

Could this little development from Overland change in a heartbeat?  You’ll have to read to find out.
